GSPro Guide

More detail for choosing a course, setting up a round, selecting a game mode, and tailoring putting to your group.

Finding Courses

  • Start a Local Match, then use the course search to find the course you want to play.
  • Some real-world courses use a slightly different name in GSPro. For example, Augusta National is listed as Georgia Golf Club, and TPC Sawgrass is listed as DPC Sodgrass.
  • Save the courses your group enjoys in Favorites for faster setup next time.

Tees and Pins

  • Match Settings chooses the default tee box for the group. In the Players tab, each player can use that default or select a different tee box with the left and right arrows.
  • For a balanced round, choose tees based on the distance your group is comfortable playing, not just the tee color. Each course can label its tees differently.
  • Pins are available as Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Earlier-day pins are usually a friendlier starting point; later-day pins can offer a tougher challenge.

Set Up Course Play

After selecting a course, review the Players, Match Settings, and Holes tabs before starting.

1. Players

Add everyone in the bay, assign team colors for team formats, and set individual tee boxes when needed.

2. Match Settings

Choose format, tees, pins, putting, course conditions, and scoring assistance.

3. Holes

Play all 18, choose only the front or back nine, or uncheck individual holes for a custom round.

Game Modes

Choose the format that matches your group before teeing off. Local Match supports the options below for in-bay play.

Stroke Play

Everyone plays their own ball; the lowest total score wins.

Scramble

Teammates choose the best shot, then play the next shot from that location.

Match Play

Each hole is its own contest. Win more holes than your opponent or opposing team.

Alternate Shot

Teammates share one ball and take turns hitting every shot.

Best Ball

Each player completes the hole with their own ball; the best score counts for the team.

Stableford

Scores are converted into points based on how each hole compares with par.

Shamble

Teammates choose the best tee shot, then each player finishes the hole with their own ball.

Putting and Gimmes

Gimme Distance

Automatically finishes a putt once the ball is within the selected distance of the cup. GSPro offers 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 16, 18, and 20-foot options.

Auto-Putt Options

Auto-Putt Fixed, Auto-Putt Random, Pick Your Putt, and AutoPutt Fixed with Chip let GSPro handle the putting portion of a round instead of requiring every putt to be hit.

A Good Starting Point

Use a gimme distance for a fast social round. Choose one of the auto-putt options when your group would rather not putt.

Course Conditions

Firmness and Stimp

Green and fairway firmness range from soft to super hard. Stimp controls green speed: the higher the setting, the faster the greens roll.

Wind and Elevation

Select No Wind, Calm (0-5 mph), Breezy (5-10 mph), or Gusty (10-25 mph). Elevation can use the bay's global setting or the course designer's elevation.

Course Recommended Settings

Use this option when you want GSPro to apply the course designer's preset match settings as a sensible baseline.

Casual, Realistic, and Scoring Assistance

Force Realistic

Applies GSPro's realistic algorithm to every player and overrides individual casual or boost settings.

Player Settings

Uses each player's saved personal settings, including any configured casual options or boosts.

Auto Concede

Set a maximum score for a hole, then turn on Auto Concede to end the hole automatically when that score is reached.

Putting Assistance

Helps correct small launch-monitor line errors on putts. This is useful when the system reads a slight left or right skew.

Breakline and Auto Aim

Breakline displays an aiming guide that shows the severity of the green's break. Putt Auto Aim sets the initial aim line, but you still control the strike.

Putting Forgiveness

Choose Easy, Normal, or Hard to control how forgiving the cup is. Normal is GSPro's closest-to-real-life default.

Practice Options

Use the Driving Range for swings, targets, and shot data. For course-specific practice, choose Practice, then On-Course Practice from the GSPro home screen.
